| Trip 1 - Everyone Working |
Before I start I want to say SORRY!!!! This is so late and I know it. I got so caught up in school and then the holidays that I kind of forgot about posting what I did in Mexico with my school. Well better late then never.
So, every fall semester the school I go to, Hope International University, goes down to Mexico to

build a family a house. The house is built over four different weekends. They go down every other weekend. And they work with an organization called Amor. The goal is to build houses for families to try and combat human trafficking. If people have a house that has a door that can lock then they are less likely to be taken by a trafficker.

| Trip 2 - Break time! |
This past fall semester I went on the first and third trip. In the first trip we made the concert foundation and started building the walls. The third trip was all about putting the roof on and getting the walls ready for stucco. For each trip we meet at the school super early in the morning. Once everyone is there we start on our way down. Before crossing into Mexico we stop at McDonald's for breakfast and then a quick stop at Starbucks to meet up with the Amor personal that would be with us for the day. We had someone different for each trip that I went on.

Trip 2 - Starting to get the walls ready for stucco. |
Once ready we made our way into Mexico and to the property that we would be working on. The property already had a house but there is not enough room for everyone in the family to live comfortably in the home. This family has several children in the home. There were a couple times that one of the children would come out and play. The family visibly thankful for the new home that we are building for them. The family bought a soda for everyone as a way to show how thankful they are.

the day we go back across theborder. On the way home we make sure to stop for dinner. We get back to campus late which makes the day a LONG day but worth it.
