| We are praying/blessing the couple. |
Today started of on a not so good note. I didn't feel very well which means I didn't eat very much a breakfast which of course worried everyone. But after a little rest I was able to feel well enough to go out. We went to the wedding. I was told that we were late as it was to start at 11:30 and it was already past that. Despite being late we made in time to witness the ceremony. It was very different then ceremonies in the US but I could tell there were still similar parts as well. To start with the crowd that was gathered if the approved of the marriage and then the bride and groom were asked if the too approved. In a way it reminded me of the part when we are asked to "speak now or forever hold your peace." They exchanged necklaces rather then rings, well in a way they are just really big rings. At the end the people are given dry rice and put it on the bride and groom as a blessing. I was asked to blessed

them and the marriage, so I said a simple blessing. After that, the feast was happening and of course we joined. Though I was still not feeling 100% so I did not eat much.
After eating we left and I was taken to go shopping for some food for me to eat. I tried a couple different sweets and got all kinds of snacks. We also got some fruit for me. They have hard time understanding that I can not have milk because of being Lactose-Intolerant. They keep asking if I want cereal (Why get it if I cant put in milk), ice cream, and what they call curd which the a drinkable yogurt.
While being out they got me a coke and when I finished it I handed it off thinking they were going to put it somewhere till we get to a place were they can recycle it since it was a can. That was a BIG FAT NOPE. They started laughing and saying that in India you just throw it out the window, which is what they did. I told that if they did in the US they could get a big ticket, which was all I could think about. Once we were done shopping we came back to the house.
Hope you are feeling better tomorrow. Glad you were still able to go the wedding.
